Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican-American sportscaster. She is the host of SportsNation and serves as an anchor for SportsCenter anchor. She began working for ESPN as a reporter in the year 2016. Her mother is the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins was bilingual since the age of nine years old, a valuable ability that allowed her to secure her first job working as an assistant to the producer with Univision in Miami and allowed her to be a part of the production team for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina, Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud and Primer Impacto. In 2009, the CBS station located in St. Petersburg hired her in the following year as the sports reporter. In 2009, she moved to Rio Grande Valley to work as a journalist for KNVO TV 48 Univision & Fox2 News. The stories she wrote about covered immigration as well as drug trafficking and various other topics on the Texas and Mexico border. Additionally, she worked as a Spanish reporter at the newscast at 5 p.m. as well as anchor and reporter on the newscast at 9 p.m. in English and again an anchor and reporter for the newscast of 9 p.m. in English, as well Spanish reporter at 10 p.m. She also filled in for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's affiliate station in Dallas. She was also given more duties. She reported on all of the Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series and Dallas Cowboys, NBA postseason, Finals FC Dallas as well the Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports show Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. The show was promoted to be anchor of the sports segment on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. In similar roles as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collins was born and raised in the city of Veracruz, Mexico. Then, they moved to Mexico City and she was born on the 22nd of November the 22nd of November, 1985. She has an elder sister. Her family relocated to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. Her parents divorced soon after in 1995. Her mother remarried a naval architect known as Fabio Fajardo who passed away from kidney cancer in 2006. It was during a holiday in the summer that she lived with her sibling in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. Antonietta is a senior in high school and knew exactly what career path she was looking for. While deciding if Mount Union was right for her, Antonietta went to visit the university. The campus was beautiful and offered the degree she wanted. When she finished high school, she decided to enroll at the university with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and manager at WRMU (91.1 FM), where she belonged. His passion for journalism and confidence in her own abilities inspired her. In turn, she was determined to achieve the standards he set and to not disappoint him.
